FIRE

Fall weather means more fire pit. I love to sit around the fire and Karen builds the best. Can't wait for the Halloween fire...

Boo at the Zoo

Hannah loves the song “You are my Sunshine” she can sing almost the whole thing. That is the song that she always wants me to sing to her and she will mouth the words along with me. The other day she was mad that John wanted her to get out of the bath and she told him “Take your sunshine away.” I think all my blog entries could start out with crazy things she says, but I really want to remember these things.

We went to “Boo at the Zoo” last weekend. It was wicked crowded. We didn’t want to stand in line for candy so we just walked around and saw the animals and the kids in costumes.

Jaws

I need to blog about my daycare issue that happened last week. I am hoping that I am over the emotional rollercoaster so the entry will be coherent. If the bitterness sneaks in, too bad.
As I have mentioned before, my kid is a biter. After our formal warning she didn’t bite for a week. The next Monday she bit once, and got bitten by anther kid. On Tuesday when I went to pick her up after work there was a note for me that she was suspended for 3 days. A NOTE???!? That’s right a note. The director of the center was not there to talk to, but the teenagers that don’t speak English told me that she would be in the next day at 7 am. So I put her in the car and called John and started to cry. What was I going to do? I called my boss at work and was told that I couldn’t take any time off because we were in the middle of a “project.” I called my saintly sister and she said she could watch my baby because she was working from home. Kenz was out of school so she came and helped too. So we had that figured out but I still needed to find a new daycare. Apparently my current daycare was not going to work out. I couldn’t wait and wonder everyday if she was going to be suspended at the last minute. So we visited about 8 different daycares and found Hannah a new one that is closer to our house and will be better for her in the long run. I am so glad its over, but in the middle of it I was beyond stressed.

I have to thank my fabulous family for helping me out with everything and for allowing me to call and cry to them. They are great! I can’t even imagine not being able to call my brother and just start crying. I will never forget that some people don’t have a “pack” that is as close as ours.

SO, last night I picked up Hannah from daycare and she didn’t bite anyone, but this week she got bitten on Monday and got scratched on Wednesday. Apparently its not just my kid that has a problem in that class……

Here is a picture of Hannah sitting on her pumpkin, in her BROWN PANTS!!

Winter Weekends

On the weekend mornings we bring Hannah into our bed when she wakes up, it gives us a few more minutes to wake up and we can all sit there and talk. Friday morning I brought her into my bed and she looked and me and said “So, Hannah, did you bite today?” Hannah has been biting at the day care, so much that we have been formally warned. She doesn’t bite at home so I have been talking to her on the way to daycare about how she shouldn’t bite. When I pick her up I ask her if she bit the kids and if she didn’t I give her a crazy amount of praise and a treat. We have been doing this for one week and it seems to be working. Maybe she is getting bored of the talk though….
Later that afternoon we went over to visit Grandpa, and Hannah and Karen went outside to pick that last of the vegetables. They look like country girls don’t they?

Friday night we decided to rent a carpet cleaner and clean our carpets. We didn’t really have a choice after the puking incident Thursday night (you don’t want to know). So we moved all the furniture and cleaned the living room carpet. Saturday morning we got up and while John was finishing cleaning the carpets upstairs Hannah and I played in the kitchen. Sounds fun right? I was making fruit pizza and cutting some vegetables to take to my dads to watch the Utah game. I make the crust with a cake mix and this time I used chocolate. We got ready to go and we were driving up to my dads, Hannah from the back seat said “cake?” and I told her we would have some when we got to grandpa’s. She kept saying cake over and over again, which is not out of the ordinary for her to repeat things. I looked back and saw her with 2 fistfuls of fruit pizza crust and a mouthful too. I just started laughing, sometimes you forget how long their arms are I guess.

I love this face. She is thinking that if she doesn't look at me I won't notice that she has done anything wrong.

Sunday morning we woke up and it was snowing outside. I took Hannah downstairs and we looked out that back door and she was fascinated. She stood there and stared for about 5 minutes before running and dancing around the house yelling about the snow. She kept pointing at it and saying “snow momma, snow” It was really fun to see her excitement about it. After it stopped snowing and cleared up a little bit, we decided to go out and see it all. We bundled up and went out for a walk. Hannah kept pointing at the snow and wanting to “have it” she also loved all the pumpkins that were out on the porches.

Sunday night I made soup for dinner, and was a little worried that Hannah wouldn’t be able to eat it. She loved it, she had two helpings and then finished it off by drinking out of her bowl.

quick post

Here is a quickpost with a couple of pictures. I have a super long post for tomorrow, so I will throw this one in fast.

We took the new scuba gear out to Sea Base to try it all out and get familiar with it. I got a lot of comments on the new pink Tusa, mostly from the instructors of the 5 classes out there with us. We had a good time and figured out our computers but Sea Base was not worth the money. It was cold, crowded and bad visibility. We still had fun though.

We have been getting ready for winter by cutting down the errant branches on the neighbors tree. We have been cutting them down all year because they are growing right over our power and phone lines. Last week John cut down a huge branch and so we had to clean it up. Whenever we go outside Hannah wants to be out there for hours, and this night she wanted to help us. It was so cute to see her dragging the branches accross the yard to put in the pile.
