Hannah's room

We bought Hannah a ceiling fan about 3 weeks ago and have been waiting to install it. John was sick on friday and I couldn't let him see that my usual friday activity is sitting in my chair watching my tivoed cache of Whatever Martha. So I decided to start tearing out the drop ceiling in Hannah's room. It really turned out to be a bigger project than I usually like, but it turned out really good. I had been working on how I wanted to do it for a while now and I decided I didn't want to do just white on the ceiling. Her room is so colorful already I figured another little bit would work just fine. Here is the before:

We took this wallpaper down

Then we had to patch (love the pink putty)

Here is the finished product:

Another new aspect of the room: Big girl bed. She loves it, she came in and said "You got me a new bed! How nice!"

Spring game

We went to the spring game today at RES. It was a beautiful day and it was a great game. It ended in a tie with a late touchdown. We can't wait for football!

Easter weekend

We went to Logan for Easter weekend to party with the cousins. We went to Baby Animal days with the entire population of Cache County and Hannah loved seeing all the animals. I thought she would be a little bit afraid, but she just ran right in those pens to see those animals. We had a great time until the potty incident in a teepee.

We then went back to our hotel to swim, again with the entire population of Cache County.

The next morning we went to an Easter egg hunt at the community park.

On Sunday morning we got Hannah dressed up in her Easter attire and sent her off to church.

When we got home Sunday afternoon I did a little scavenger hunt for her because that is the best part about Easter. I still remember doing this when I was little; our clues were so clever and sometimes really hard. I loved the Easter basket being hidden in the oven though. I knew she wasn’t ready for riddle clues so I took pictures of places around the house and had her follow them. She did really great at finding them and was way excited when she found her basket.

And now just for fun.....

Typical Evening---

Last night was a typical night at our house, here is how it goes:

She wants to sit on the counter while I cook or clean or do anything. As she was sitting there I was trying to open a bottle and couldn’t get it to budge. She reached behind her and grabbed the can opener and handed it to me. I was shocked that she would put the two together, even though it wasn’t the correct tool for the job. I finished making dinner and Hannah told me that her stomach hurt really really bad. I picked her up and held her while I asked her if she wanted some medicine to make her stomach feel better. She looked up at me and said “No, I just want to snuggle” in the saddest voice she could muster. My heart melted and we snuggled until she felt better. On a side note, I remember when my Zachy was little and he would always say his tummy hurt because he loved tummy drops, it got so bad that we would have to fake giving him tummy drops so he would stop crying about it. Silly kid.

After dinner I was making frosting for a cake and Hannah was again sitting on the counter. When I was done I gave her a spoonful while I was frosting the cake, she decided that the spoonful just wasn’t enough. She reached down and grabbed the beater from the Kitchenaid and it led to this:

Which promptly led to this:

I have discovered that water is a very inexpensive and relatively clean toy. Hannah loves it.
