I wish I had a video of Hannah saying "New York City", it is so funny. She sounds just like that salsa commercial New York City! - you know the one. Anyway, last week we decided to drive, yes I said drive, to New York City. What possesed me to do that? Still don't know. The plan was to leave wednesday night and get there on saturday. The fun actually started before we left. Last Sunday Hannah started getting a small fever, she acted fine and wasn't complaining but she was a little warm. That afternoon she started complaining that the back of her neck hurt, after a small panic attack I checked to see if she could touch her chin to her chest. She could do that so I though she was fine. Her fever kept going up and she continued to complain about her neck. At dinner she turned totally lethargic, she just sat on my lap and fell asleep. Her fever then reached 103 and we called the dr. The on-call doc told us to take her in to Instacare for an H1N1 test and a menangitis test. We went to Instacare and they told us to take her to Primary for an H1N1 test and a menangitis test because they can't do that at Instacare, nice eh? So we went to Primary and they started testing her for everything. At Instacare her heart rate was 162, so that was bad. I was totally impressed with the toughness of my kid. She watched them put the IV in her hand and never cried. The nurse was also impressed and brought her a cute pink bear. They came to the conclusion that she had pneumonia and prescribed her an antibiotic. I am pleased to say I made it through our first ER visit just fine. Hannah probably did better than I did.

We went to our follow up and got the go-ahead to get in the car and start our drive. Luckily Hannah was starting to feel better.
Here we are at day 1:

Day 2:

Day 3:

I am sure I don't even need to mention that it's a good thing we had TV. When we got to NYC we chased some pigeons and went to the Central Park Zoo. We really had a blast, and Hannah was so good. When she got tired, she would just fall asleep, it was really cute.

We also went to FAO Schwartz, the Knicks/Jazz game, and the Statue of Liberty:

John got some meat on a stick, Hannah LOVED riding the subway. We flew home and we all enjoyed that as well!
