I heart my job!

I really do like my job. Some days I forget that I like it and when that happens, I remind myself that some people don’t get to wear jeans to work everyday. Even worse, some people are required to wear (cue scary music) nylons. YIKES

However, for the past 2 days I have been staring at numbers. I have been working on our warehouse billings. Basically I get this mass of information and manipulate it into a spreadsheet. I make sure it has coding and that the coding is correct. I then make it beautiful and send it down to get entered. For those not “in the know” the warehouse is where we all get our “browns.” I am now thinking of the day when Hannah is reading the blog and she asks me “Mommy, what are browns?” and I get to explain to her the subtle differences between Wrangs and Carharts.

Anyway, after finishing the first month (yes there is more than one month to wade through) I decided to reward myself with a treat. I have a stash of Dove Dark Chocolate Promises hidden in my drawer, and I pulled one out. The promise inside said “Stretch the body, stretch the mind.” That was all the encouragement I needed to take a break.

I had my camera in my purse so I grabbed it and went downstairs to take a picture of the sign in the lobby. I have had my eye on this sign for months.

















I walk by it every day and laugh. The sign on the bottom says this:

















Not only is the grammar totally wrong but I want to cut off the bottom so it says this:

Now, this need I have to manipulate signs stems from my 9th grade trig class. There was a boy in my class that we all called tink. One day he jumped up from his desk and ran up to the board and erased a couple words to make some silly sentence. The challenge was on, for the rest of the year we all searched our chalkboards for letters or words that we could erase to make a different and usually hilarious saying. I still do this today, it might be some form of ADD, but I can’t help it. I have been wanting to change this sign in my lobby for months. So thanks to my blog for allowing me to manipulate my world without me getting fired.
